Bread Halwa 1

It is a Indian sweet which is very rich in taste. If there is any old bread or dried  now you can make this halwa, the taste won't differ.

  • Bread - 1 loaf

  • Cream -4tsp

  • Milk - 2 cups

  • Sugar - 1cup

  • Water - 1cup

  • Nutmeg powder - 1/4tsp

  • Cardamom powder - 1tsp

  • Ghee - 1/2 cup

  • Saffron or Kesar - 2tsp

  • Nuts - 1/2cup(roasted)



  1. Cut the bread into square pieces and deep fry it.keep aside

  2. In a kadai put water and sugar to make the syrup. When sugar dissolves put the fried bread and break it so that all the bread immerse in the syrup.

  3. When it mashed nicely add the milk.

  4. When milk reduces add ghee, roasted nuts, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder.

  5. Mix all nicely and switch of the stove.

  6. Now add the cream and mix it once more.

  7. Now it is ready to serve. You can serve this both cold or hot, both are taste good.
